The West End Parks and Open Space Commission (WEPOSC) meetings are on the second Wednesday of every month. The Planning Commission considers, talks over plan reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. The Planning Commission meetings are held at the Municipal Building These meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 7 PM. These meetings are held to discuss important Township matters, and residents are able to review a wide variety of topics. Open burning of materials in Chestnuthill Township is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to garbage, municipal waste, recyclables, rubbish, solid waste, yard waste, plastics etc. The mulch is for Chestnuthill Township Residents only. For up to date recycling information call the facility at 57.įree mulch is now available for pick up at the Chestnuthill Township Recycling Center/Transfer Station. The Chestnuthill Township Recycling Center/Compost Facility is located at 3223 Hillcrest Drive, Effort, PA. Additionally, the Township offers yard waste shredding and composting services for the residents, who are welcome to use the compost for their yard and garden projects. This simply means that at the recycling center/transfer station you only pay for the items which you cannot recycle (at the current rate of $3 per 30 gallon bag). There is no charge for recycling at the Chestnuthill Township Recycling Center/Transfer Station and all residents are encouraged to save money by participating in the pay-as-you-throw program. The Township recycles over 38 items including recyclables such as fluorescent bulbs, Styrofoam, rigid plastics, and batteries. ![]()
